On 9 December 2020, the European Research Council (ERC) announced the list of winners of its « Consolidator » call for projects, created to financially support research projects in the consolidation phase.

Among the 34 Frenchmen selected in this year 2020, Pr Guillaume Canaud has been distinguished.

Pr Guillaume Canaud : FSER laureate for 2020, doctor of medicine and team leader at the Institut Necker-Enfants malades, APHP, Inserm and University of Paris. He obtained his third ERC grant in 5 years, for his research project « Prospects » which aims to study the role of the PIK3CA gene and protein in the development of several syndromes, in particular CLOVES. An oncological approach to the study of these syndromes is now possible.

The European Research Council’s « Consolidator » grants are designed to support mid-career researchers of any nationality. Funding – up to €2 million per grant, plus in some cases an additional €1 million for start-up costs – is provided for a maximum of five years and is primarily intended to consolidate the beneficiaries’ teams.
