M3C ENG

French national reference center for complex congenital heart defects (M3C)

Necker-Enfants malades university hospital-University of Paris is the lead (coordinating site) of the rare diseases reference center for complex congenital heart defects (M3C). Three satellite centers (constituent sites) are associated to this coordinating site : the Georges-Pompidou European hospital-University of Paris for adult patients with congenital heart diseases, the Bordeaux hospital center and the Marie Lannelongue surgical center in Plessis-Robinson.

The M3C center-University of Paris is the largest European center for the care of congenital heart diseases from fetal lif to adulthood.

Since the initial certification of M3C in 2006, this reference center has relied on a national network of 19 competence centers spread over the entire national territory, including the overseas departments and territories. This allows for complex congenital heart disease easier access to care and the most optimal use of individual skills and resources.

This reference center is affiliated with the CARDIOGEN rare diseases healthcare network and the LUNG and GUARD-HEART European reference networks (ERN)
